Damage and Leak Detection System

Principles of the system

- To locate an exact source of damage and leak, a time domain reflectometer (TDR) is used. TDR is a low frequency pulse tester.
- The location of any damage or leak in water and wastewater pipelines can be detected by the analysis of wave forms in reflected pulse after pulse is transmitted by a reflectometer.

FunctionaAl Water Pipes

Background and purpose of development

- Water pipelines used for water storage (drinking water, agricultural water and wastewater) need to be coated to prevent rusting. However, coated pipes can turn into a source of bacteria as the inside of coated pipes is contaminated by foreign substances in water.
- This pipe product is designed to overcome such a problem by using yellow earth and anti-shock Nano-based coating material, which is antibacterial and improves surface illumination with the ability to emit far infrared ray and negative ion. This functional pipe will supply safe and healthy water.

Joint connection methods

  • The conventional welded joint increases vulnerability to carbonization of the painted area due to welding heat. And rapid rusting results in leak and difficulties in separation and replacement of pipes.
    Also, the painted inner face of the pipes is not easy to repair, making the connection process slow. The joint connection method does not use welding, meaning that there is no possibility of carbonization. As rusting does not occur, it has a stronger durability against external forces and vibration. Since the method uses bolts and nuts to connect pipes, the connection process is rather easy.
